Donated items supporting local families aided by The Transformation Center
BALTIMORE – Level 10 Events invites the community to kick off the New Year with food, fun and warmth. Its 6th Annual Chili Showcase & Coat Drive expo takes place Wednesday, Jan. 19, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Laurel Park (Route 198 & Racetrack Road Laurel, MD 20725).
In addition to “great networking,” event highlights are as follows:
- Chili and dessert samples from local restaurants and caterers including Food by Fire Catering, Murraydine Catering, Chesapeake Celebrations Catering, Sistah Sweets and Dorina’s Kitchen
- Local brew samples from local Maryland breweries
- Casino games
- DJ
- Door prizes
- Interactive photo booth
- 50 to 60 local business exhibits
- Free parking
Guests are encouraged to bring new or gently used coats, sweaters, hats, scarves, gloves, etc. for local families being assisted by The Transformation Center: a Brooklyn, Md.– based nonprofit, which provides pathways for people to rise above the obstacles of poverty, addiction, poor education, unemployment and social injustice.
Last year’s event collected over 350 coats and thousands of additional winter gear items. Organizers hope to surpass that number this year.
Individual admission is as follows: in advance – $10/person with donated item(s) or $20/person without donated item(s); at the door: $30/person. Group tickets are as follows: $50 for five tickets or $100 for 10 tickets. Visit ChiliShowcase.com to register online.
